“The web is everywhere and provides access to so many kinds of experiences, that we find ourselves with an urgent need to understand how best to navigate it for ourselves as well as how to help our students safely and ethically explore this new virtual world. In educational circles, this interest has been given the name “digital citizenship” – supporting the idea that we now have dual citizenship both off and online.” – Dr. Daryl Ann Borel
Throughout my work here, I explored the elements of digital citizenship, how to help students understand the impacts of technology, and looked at examples of ethical, responsible, and safe technology usage. Our goal as educators is to help students, as well as ourselves, develop the skills and perspectives necessary to be able to interact as good citizens in healthy and creative ways.
